7 Questions You Must Answer

Self-seekers of information on the web want to know about you and your business.

While good graphics and a pleasing experience definitly ooh and ah the crowds, ultimately, they get bored because they came to solidify an impression of your business by getting answers to some core questions.

Below is a questionaire for an individual, but you can expand these questions to include your organization or group. These are important questions so it is never to early to start thinking about them.

Here's a sample of how I might answer these questions for someone seeking my web development skills.

Who am I? (or What is my business?)
My name is Daniel Seirawan. I have been working in the web industry since its popular inception, 1994. I’ve worked for Media Passage, Microsoft and Doghouse Productions in various web roles.

What is my background? (or What is my expertise?)
While working of Doghouse Productions, I built sites for some major corporations, Premera Blue Cross, Washington Dental Service, and Concur Technologies and many smaller sites.

I attended the University of Washington and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. In February 2002, I finished a certificate in Internet Programming. I have attended numerous other workshops.

How do I work? (or What service or product do you provide?)
Usually I work closely with one or two liasons in your company. Together, we determine how best to address your company needs and the needs of your audiences, and build a site which meets your budget and your preferred level of maintenance.

What do others say about me?
I have been involved in dozens of projects with some very good outcomes. Much of my work is still on the web. Other web designers sometimes ask me to develop their designs, or ask me for the code I used to accomplish my work.

What do I know about your organization or business?
The majority of sites I have built are in the healthcare industry. The exposure proved invaluable in understanding complex organizations with large departments, and satisfying large groups of people with different responsibilities and needs.

Additionally, I have worked on over a dozen small business websites— allowing me to get valuable design experience for the needs of a sole proprietor.

What insight do I have into your situation?
I have applied many of my skills to other organizations which needed a web presence, design skills, coding expertise, and/or mindful project management.

I have lead or been part of many small teams assigned to assisting large and small organizations present their message with the proper delivery to connect with their customers and other audiences.
